In the spring of 2026, Brecon Estate wine club members are going to Bordeaux, France! We cordially invite you to join us on a 7-night deluxe cruise exploring France’s Bordeaux region, arguably the world’s epicenter of fine wine production.

Fly into Bordeaux and stay in the charming, perfectly located Hotel Bayonne Etche-Ona for three nights. We’ll adjust to the change in time and enjoy some very special events in Bordeaux city, including a gourmet walking tour of superb Bordelaise shops and restaurants. We’ll spend a full day in Cognac, the birthplace of fine French brandy and itself a very charming town. In Margaux we will visit two Grand Cru chateaux en route to our ship.

Then on August 6th embark on the 148-passenger luxury river ship AmaDolce and cruise the three waterways of the Garonne and Dordogne rivers and Gironde Estuary. Along these banks are the villages of Libourne, Pauillac and Cadillac---home to the venerable Grand Cru wine houses of Chateaux Lafite Rothschild, Latour, Petrus, Chateau y’Quem, and many more.

On board, we will hold two tastings and a paired dinner, pouring our best recent work, and contrasting our New World wines with those of France. We’ll also explore together the charming villages and chateaux of the Bordeaux region. Originally planted by the Romans, for over 2,000 years the wines of Bordeaux have been prized and sought after. Legendary houses here, like Chateau Margaux, produce some of the world’s most expensive vintages. Annual production from the 60 Bordeaux appellations exceeds 900 million bottles. This is the most prolific wine region in France, with some 300,000 acres of wine grapes under cultivation.
